I have been going through Dad's things.
He was a long term season ticket holder.
In there I found ITFC year books for 1977, and 1979 plus one about 1978. I wonder what that will be about ? One has some pages loose. (50 year old glue !)

I have read them, but I cant bring myself to throw them out.

So I will leave them, in a Tesco bag (other shops are available), at Bobby's feet tomorrow, free to whoever gets there fust.

My train will not get in until 11.30. So I will not be at Portman Road until 11.50 ish. Old legs go slow.

Enjoy.

Always saw SBR more as a Sainsbury's man personally, but that's a nice touch. I hope your dad's stuff finds an appreciative home.

Yes, I see what you mean.

But it was a case of the first bag I got hold of.

It might have been Morrisons or Iceland or any of the others. I'm quite gregarious when it comes to purchasing comestables.

My dad passed away last September. Was going to games in the early sixties. It’s tough going through things. Dad had loads of Ipswich memorabilia

Hey there!

I posted this onto a local Ipswich FB page and someone replied with your post:

Hi all. Was waiting at the Sir Bobby statue before the game today. Someone left three ITFC books in a bag at Sir Bobby's feet. Not sure whether they were left by accident, for someone else to enjoy or were some kind of tribute (unlikely). I have them. Just need a description of them to return to their owner. Uppa Towen!!

I will treasure them and enjoy looking through them. Then I'll gift them onwards.

Thank you so much!

Great day!! πŸ™‚

You are more than welcome.
I am glad they found somebody who appriciates them.
Pass them on in my dad's name.
Raise a glass or cup to Fred who hoarded them. He would be vey pleased to know their fate.

That's a great idea that you look through them and then pass them on for someone else to enjoy.
