We’ve been promoted three times recently (and five times in my lifetime). The last three have all been confirmed at Portman Road, the one before that was at Wembley, and the one before that had a home game (Brighton) where we could all celebrate together following clinching it at Oxford.

I happened to rewatch the highlights of the Exeter game on YT, and it is striking how tentative the pitch invasion was at the end. Like we’d forgotten how to celebrate and what to do when we finally achieved our goals. Odd, that. | | | |

Weren’t there lots of of overhyped scare stories about fines and bans for invasions pre Exeter? It’s funny watching the Town in… promotion specials. The first two are so much more joyous and emotional than this season’s. That’s not a knock, just the reality of going up when it’s expected/demanded as opposed to blowing away L1 or surprising the world in 23-24.
Still, being able to pick and choose which is your favorite going up vid is a good problem to have! | |

You can see if the games were closer and if there were some opposition players who had wound the fans up in some way that you’d be concerned for their safety when thousands of Ipswich fans ran onto the pitch. Fortunately it wasn’t that way at all. | | | |
