If he doesn't fill the impending vacancy at Fulham and Newcastle make a poor start, he could very easily be 2nd by Christmas.

Does it count if he hasn’t done it in the premier league?

It’s definitely harder to keep your job in the pantheon of 24/7 media hype at this level.

Narratives move quick - I wouldn’t be sure he’d survive the onslaught if he’s bottom at Christmas.

Things that are true now, but one sided like 3/4 promotions, young, dynamic, football god …, would quickly become equally true, and equally bias negative narratives.

1 point above Millwall. 22 points in a season. 2nd in every promotion, biggest resources, Sunderland did it, Leeds managed it, Schumacher at Bolton was better (at Plymouth).

The media over play narratives in both directions - it sells. And our fans are like all fans, fickle at times.

Bottom at Xmas and he’ll be gone.

I forgot the £5 million salary, that’s European qualification, just to begin justifying it .., I still think McKenna might regret that (so soon).

We know Ashton was sacking him, if we’d had 2 point less, and not won the playoffs, we know because he told Nige.

Fine margins in football, and it moves quick. And he’s not the longest serving manger, he starts at day one in August.

That’s the standards. EFL might as well be a different sport compared to this level. We go again.

Regarding 'Bottom at Xmas'

1. McKenna has enough on his plate without taking up acting.

2. 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is not a panto, wrong season too...
