Seems to be the date over the last two seasons when we make our first signing who isn’t on a free or who Chelsea don’t want out of the door in the last financial year.

I think we all just need to take a deep intake of breath and try and be a bit patient, ( not something football supporters are renowned for I know ). When you consider there are at least four different parties and maybe more involved in every possible deal. The Player, the agent, the selling club and buying club, all wanting every possible contractual detail to have I's dotted and T's crossed to their entire satisfaction. Add to that an extra layer of complication if it involves deals abroad. Add to that possibly the player needing to speak to his family if he has one to make sure they are happy too. Some no doubt love where they are currently. There are probably things I've not thought of too.
I do think we need the core of the squad together by the time the proper pre season matches start on the 29th July, that does leave another 26 days. A lot can happen in football in 1 day, never mind 26. |  | | |

Big guess but we should start to see things moving next week. Let’s assume they would like at least two additions before the spain trip. It has to be very likely we will be fixing this up right into mid/late Aug not matter what the club would prefer. As always ITFC doesnt control when other clubs and other players decision they want to make their final decisions. You could always see a lot going on early-mid Aug with the WC. |  |

Providing we don’t leave it as late as last year - and then blame poor results on players needing time to gel - then all good.
