This is a brilliant article written by a former colleague of mine.

Just the 1100 odd deaths since the 'ceasefire' I believe. Israel is a rogue State.

And more generally, there is no prospect of any improvement in living conditions and the like.

Revised plan aims to ‘keep something going’ amid fears Netanyahu may gamble on new all-out offensive before Israeli elections"

And if you look at the map in the article, you will see just how much of Gaza Israel still occupies.

I bet Tony Blair is proud of his involvement with the Bored of Peace.

'At one point, I placed my finger through a wound in his chest to confirm that his heart was still beating.'

Visceral, brings home the reality of 'operating' in difficult conditions, doesn't it ?

The bizarre thing for me is that the government sometimes imposes, and often talks about imposing, sanctions in relation to what it is going on in the West Bank but never in relation to the horrors in Gaza.

Shurely shome mishtake? Not!

An ex-colleague of mine did a talk recently about his time as security and logistics coordinator for an aid agency in Gaza. They were on-ground for about a year (on and off).

If anything their experience is worse than what you hear in the media. The frontline experience of people trapped in a place they did not choose to live and accused of supporting a group they did not choose to be governed by.

The vast majority of people in Gaza are just trying to survive. And sometimes that's not an option. Pretty horrific.

Unfortunately I cannot find a link for the interview with Tom Fletcher that BBC's HARDtalk conducted shortly after his return from Gaza last year, he was one of the few 'Western' diplomats to make it in, so this clip will have to do. Ten months on nothing has really been done to stop the suffering, has it ?
