So most of our squad have had a break since early May, the Irish Boys a bit later because of some friendlies. I’ll be interested to see what they do with Fatawu (who has had an ACL issue in the past) and Maeda. Im sure GON would love to have them available for Day 1, but that would mean very little by way of a break given that they’re at a new club and have plenty to learn about their new surroundings. |  |

I have had similar thoughts. Team integration is important, we want a well bonded team and the opportunity to establish the system(s). However, player welfare and fitness is important. We'd not want to lose the wonderful signings to injury.
Hopefully, some caught a break between their club seasons and World Cup, or after going out. Then, progress over the next month. The Prem has fewer, but individually more demanding, matches. The squad will come into play. |  | | |
