I’ve used my downtime wisely. A trip to aforementioned city booked for first weekend in October (Friday morning to Monday evening) with the lad.
Plovdiv looks like a fascinating day out from there by train. Vitosha mountain part day. Some great architecture and mooching around too.
Any tips on other things to do and see?. Enjoy communist era stuff so any recommendations would be gratefully received.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.
