Yeah, I read that earlier. It's a really good interview - which reflects on Simon Hattenstone's skill as an interviewer.
Personally, and FWIW, I think much of Queen's stuff is overblown and theatrical (hello, it was Freddy.....) but there are some great tracks in amongst them. I was going to say that those ones will last but I'm not sure how much Queen are listened to these days.

i remember going through the Sothebys catalogue of the contents of Freddie's house. He had sublime good taste, has to be said. I would have liked to buy something as a mememto, but the quality of the items plus the Freddie factor pushed everything to 5 x what they would have been worth if Freddie had not been the owner. I believe Mary Austin was a good executor of his will (as well as beneficiary) as she protected the rights of his illegitimate and secret daughter. Would have been fascinating if the house could have been preserved intact as a museum of his life. | | | |
