Question 19:01 - Sep 13 with 493 viewsgramps

In the United v City game the ball hit the ref and he gave a dropped ball. He dropped it outside the penalty area and the City goalie who was outside the area and kicked it inside and then picked it up. Should have been given as a back pass?

No, but i recall the incident and my thinking was more this - if I'm in a tricky spot in defence or need to relieve the pressure of relentless attacks, and the referee is a few yards away, simply pass the ball at the referee. Instant uncontested drop ball in my favour.
