Lampard is a smart chap and relatively local. The thing which concerns me is that it would be a bit like one of our ex-Town players managing Colchester being an ex-West Ham and Chelsea legender and looking to progress to a club in the next tier of size after us

But who knows, if we end up with him over Ross and Hurst. I'll back him but it's a move which would mildly concern me

The suggestion I've heard via a third party is that the FA are keen to encourage the next generation of managers and aren't keen on clubs hopping on and off the managerial merry go round
