To a degree I agree with Hurst when he says it's not about formations. 15:53 - Sep 23 with 296 viewshomer_123

It's certainly more about what you do with and without the ball.

However, on reflection, yesterday saw a midfield of Chalobah, Skuse, Edwards, Nolan and Ward.

Should we really be playing with two defensive minded midfielders at home. Skuse and Chalobah?

Albeit Skuse was certainly more attack minded yesterday, it's not like playing two DMs see us let Edwards Ward and Nolan lose and really get forward and support Jackson. Who again, often found himself 20 to 30 yards away from a team mate.

The tempo with which we played the second half at Brentford simply wasn't replicated yesterday and had it been I am sure we could have pressured Bolton into mistakes etc.

So sure, formations aren't the be all and end all but squad selection and approach are and we are not seeing enough consistency.

He needs to stick to a starting XI for a few games, simplify what he wants from the team and allow them to go out and execute it.

Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...
Poll: As things stand, how confident are you we will get promoted this season?
