The media needs a f***ing reform after this 22:46 - Mar 21 with 1880 viewsWarkTheWarkITFC

All the years of lies, sensationalism, click bait has quite evidently caused massive issues.

Shocked at how many people still aren’t taking things seriously and are risking lives with their behaviour. Absolutely appalling.

The media should be able to report on now serious this is and we all go, wow. I need to do what the say this is bad. But people are still laughing it off as fake news, scare mongering and click bait because that’s what they are used to.

So depressing. Still people out and about standing next to each other, hands over everything. Absolutely despair of some people.

Still seems to be an attitude of its only 1 in 10000 chance of coming into contact with someone on in Suffolk so I don’t need to be careful. Next week it’ll be 1 in 500 and then 1 in 100 and then it’s too scary to contemplate.

You cannot blame the media for people's stupidity.

There are road signs instructing people to drive at 20 or 30 near a school but some tossers will still do what they want.

Sometimes it is simply down to the individual.

It's very much a case of The Boy Who Cried Wolf, regarding the press.
For years we have had the Express, every winter telling us on a weekly basis that we are going to be hit with massive snow storms that never materialise. We have sensationalist claims that house prices are going to collapse, then a week later they are going to sky-rocket.

The problem is that nobody believes the press any more, so when it came down to reporting corona virus, people did not believe the severity, because the press habitually blow things out of proportion.

The media and more importantly those who consume it. It’s been apparent for several years now that we’ve developed an extremely unhealthy appetite for social media fuelled dramatisation of everything, often accepting things that are clearly fake, deliberately misguiding people or worse, both. People crave it.

If there’s a positive to come from this, from recent political outcomes etc, then I hope people have a long hard think about the legacy of this generation. Why on earth to people crave a Louis Vuitton bag over saving for their future, why do they look up to people earning hundreds of thousands of pounds a week for what they have rather than what they do etc. Needs to stop.

You will always get people who think they are invisible, even during the blitz in WWII people would still move around ignoring the messages to head to shelters.

I would also add it's not just the media the internet needs a serious reform with all the fake news
