Yes, signed in November 1965 and left in March 1966-played 15 games.

I remember him as being quite short too-which is not a pun based on being here a short time.

RIP

I've always remembered him as compact (which I guess might be translated as small). Didn't injury play a part?

Not injury no, he started every game from two days after he signed until five days before he left.

Who's Who Of Ipswich Town describes him as 'a small, stocky ball-winning midfielder' so maybe your 'compact' and my 'short' are both correct.

I can picture him so vividly, yet he only played 15 games. I'm a 11/12 year old Town fanatic way back then so he must of left a lasting impression..... in my few remaining brain cells!!
Also remembering he signed a fabulous clear autograph which I probably pestered him for a hundred times.

Very busy little player, slightly reminiscent of a more effective Alan Judge. As has been said, short and stocky. I was disappointed to see him sold.

Just checked my autograph book!

It looks like I stopped collecting autographs in 1965 so Bobby Kellard is not in my collection.

(That is stopped collecting autographs apart from getting Cup Final programme signed and various players at shareholderrs 'meet the players' do's.)
