Did a good job of nullifying their wing backs and eventually found a way through. Let off the hook a bit by the Müller miss but otherwise defended excellently which is very good in tournament football.

Just about got the balance of cautiousness/conservative play right (although an end like that will always justify the means as Southgate pointed out).

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

As it went past Pickford I thought there was only one place the ball was going.

Even in the replays I’m not sure how he misses. Well, actually Pickford did really well.
