I haven't posted here since about 2005, but have lurked here everyday ever since! Your post has inspired me to give it another go. My love of Town is only topped by two things. Family & music.
Mccartney pulled in many of his friends to put down a couple of tracks for his "Back to the egg" lp. The band were known as the Rockestra. They did actually play a gig at the 1979 concerts for Kampuchea. They all wore gold lamè suits, apart from Pete Townshend, who was drunk and moody and wouldn't wear it. Rock and roll! Whilst I can't name all the musicians, I did recognise the following: Kenny Jones Ronnie Lane John Bonham Macca Linda Mac Pete Townshend Dave Gilmore John "Rabbit" Bundrick Denny Laine Rebop - percussionist Hank Marvin? Manfred Mann?
There was also another drummer who was due to join the fun, but he decided to take one too many pills and couldn't make it. Any ideas?
Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Well I'm glad I've managed to lure you back to this madhouse.
I'll help with a couple more:
Ray Cooper (Percussion) Bruce Thomas (Bass, Elvis Costello & the Attractions)
Hank Marvin is definitely there.
John Bonham was a great mate of Maccas and played on a another couple of earlier Wings tracks.
Is the missing drummer Keith Moon? Surely he'd have been brown bread by then.

I think I've seen Ray Cooper play live more than any other musician. In the late 70's and through the 80's he seemed to be in everyone's live band.
He always had that crazy look in his eyes.
Ray Cooper! Of course.
My eyes aren't what they were and the footage was grainy (and rather jauntily edited) but for a moment I could've sworn that was Dominic Cummings on tambourine.
