As a modern manager McKenna gets the performance analysis in a way that Cook probably didn't

Seen a few comments from opposition managers, etc about Town's fitness levels being high (which they weren't before) and the number of injuries seems to have dropped.

Maybe, just maybe, some of the rotations are being informed by data they are getting back from the vests the players wear.....

I imagine that teams like ManU and Spurs will each have an entire department devoted to performance data analysis. It's just part of the culture McKenna's grown up in (managerially), but something 2nd- 3rd- and 4th-tier stalwarts like Cook rarely, if ever, encountered (didn't really exist in their playing days, either).

It's just not part of the traditional manager's toolset. They're used to being the primary decisionmakers, based upon experience and instinct. Which can be clouded by the massive pressure to always have your best players available to win games.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Indeed, its almost like McKenna's assistant also knows his onions about strength and conditioning as well..
