Nadhim Zahawi income tax 09:26 - Jul 23 with 1194 viewsBasuco

Things are getting interesting on this according to Dan Neidle, who says he is a tax expert, this letter was sent to him.

Not good if what Dan is reporting is true, if it is not true Mr Zahawi needs to offer an explanation as to why he did not avoid paying UK tax. I do not understand these things but it does not look very good.

Indeed, this does have a murky look.

His explanation of the arrangement potentially brings Income Tax (50% + 13.8% NICs) into play rather than just CGT (10% in 2010 I believe).

It could be a case of creating a £15m tax liability whilst trying to avoid £3m.

A Google search suggests he is a VERY high-powered tax lawyer.
