I don’t actually get this.

Why should cricketers or footballers care if our elected politicians/government and media don’t care? Saudi Arabia is a key strategic partner who we sell weapons to and we train to bomb Yemeni civilians.

If Saudi companies and money (it’s all oil money) were off-limits then they’d be off-limits. In the last decade or do, we have had the same with China getting the Olympics, Russia and Qatar the World cups. All pretty much normalised and certainly none boycotted.
