Stumbled across this old TWTD article from July 2001 when we apparently had a £5m bid accepted from Deportivo La Coruna for the now Argentina manager, Lionel Scaloni.

Safe to say he missed out by not joining us!

Deportivo La Coruña sources are reporting that Town not only have an interest in their captain Fran, but also another midfielder, Lionel Scaloni. They report that Town and Italians Parma have both had fees of around £5 million accepted for the 23-year-old Argentinian. 0
