In another thread looking at stats for ITFC somebody asked who Scott Duncan was. Here’s a Wiki summary giving the bare bones of his career. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Duncan_(footballer) It doesn’t really tell the full story though. Scott Duncan is a very important figure in the club’s history. If there was to be a fourth statue we’d do a lot worse than have one of him. He came to the club when it was in the Southern League and aiming to join the football league after many decades as an amateur club. It is thought that Duncan’s influence and contacts helped get the club elected over Gillingham who were kicked out. Serving the club for 18 years, he managed us to our first promotion in the 1950s and even remained as club secretary for a few years after passing over the managers job to Alf Ramsey. In summary, I doubt that the club would have grown as quickly without the steady, competent professional Scott Duncan. Without him, our illustrious history would look a whole lot different.
