He'll be OK tomorrow as it's 'only' Chile. Hoping that doesn't come back to haunt me but they're pretty pants, I can't see tomorrow being anything other than fairly comfortable which is a nice game for him to come back to really.
So many of these group games are such a non event, I'm looking forward to the real stuff starting in the 1/4s (at which point I think England will bow out btw). That said SA v Ireland and Wales v Aus should both be a good watch this weekend, Group C in particular is intriguing. Especially as whoever comes 2nd will likely be England's 1/4 final opponent. |  | | |

Rather disappointed Ford has been sidelined* (tho think Smith is excellent). Nor should Farrell have been given the captaincy.

There's such a disparity between the tier 1 sides and the rest too that the groups become a bit of a mockery. Entirely predictable, perhaps with the exception of Fiji - Australia - Wales which is open. I hoped Scotland might do something in their group but I can't see it. I'm not sure what the answer is as I get the argument that without the WC exposure the lesser sides wont develop and improve, and the money will help them. But games like France winning 96-0 against Namibia can't be fun for anyone. I feel like if that game was played 100 times France would win it 100 times. | | | |

Does feel a bit harsh, but perhaps a case of 'resting' him. I'm pleased to see Smith in though, he's a really good player and thought his cameo against Japan was impressive. I'm also pleased to see Care come in. He's not everybody's cup of tea but I love how quickly he uses the ball and gets us playing. | | | |

I'm sure Ford has not been 'sidelined'. He is being given a partial rest against one of the weaker teams. He may very well get on later in the game.
Farrell may well get a card on about the 100th minute, given to him by Jamie George in the dressing room! I should be very surprised if he got a card during the match.
I hope Farrell plays well, if only to shut Matt Dawson up. Dawson is constantly making disparaging remarks about Owen F. |  | | |
