Ah! So the Hudds players will get the new manager ‘bounce’ away.. 08:22 - Sep 25 with 1046 viewsunstableblue

at Coventry tonight

A loss would be good

Think going to be quite a different management style and playing system

I don’t rate Moore his football is one dimensional and resorts to aimless long ball when the limited ideas run out

Poll: How do you rate the new home kit out of 5?

Not sure that was true at WBA, they played some really good attacking football under him. You can't really fault his record in management, he's had success everywhere he's been really and seems like an absolutely top bloke to boot. Wednesday were a little more attritional at times with their 3-5-2, but that probably more a case of playing to Smith's strengths at times as well as the limitations of his back line, but they weren't 1 dimensional. Played a lot through Bannan in the deep lying role, had a lot of width as well as goals. 96 points should win you the division really. Given it didn't, to oversee that playoff turnaround was an incredible achievement.

He'll be a good appointment for Huddersfield I think, I hope they give him the time to get his ideas across and create the culture he will want. I'm hoping we catch them a bit cold, we've got stability and the best part of 2 years under our belt in terms of developing how we want to play. 4 points from our next 2 would be a very good return.

Yes first half against us at PR last season they were very good... yes it relied on quality players in the front 5.... but they opened us up easily

Not sure Sheff Weds fans during their weak run would agree he's a good manager though - I listened to a phone in of Owls fans in and around Chansiri's latets mad ramblings about Moore exit.. and 3 or 4 callers were backing Moore and berating Chansiri.. then the final caller summed it up beautifully - "'everyone's got amnesia, prior to the Posh home leg turn around, there wasn't a single Wednesday fan who thought Moore was a decent manager'

I think there was likely a high degree of recency bias in that though. Of course recency is a big factor in football, you can only dine out on prior success for so long, but the shape of their season was probably sub optimal for Moore. They were absolutely relentless for so long. Mid March they were top, 3 points ahead of Plymouth 5 ahead of us and with 2 GIH over both. It really looked unassailable didn't it? Then they hit their bad patch and it cost them the top 2. Bar about 3 weeks they did little wrong last season, but normally you would still expect have enough for the title let alone top 2 with 96 points. They were unfortunate that ours and Plymouth's form was so brutally good. It would've been easy to fold after that though, especially after the 1st leg. The Wednesday players were clearly bought in to overturn it like they did, and the comments from their players shows how well liked and respected Moore was.

The majority of Wednesday fans still think highly of Moore now. Again, maybe more recency in that given the absolute turd of a season they're seeing now. He got out at the right time if you ask me. I know where I would rather be out of Hudds or SW right now.

I don't know, his record across three divisions has been pretty solid, and I doubt Sheffield Yesterday would be in the mess they are in now had they kept him on.

Huddersfield are woeful, and they need points so he may have to resort to that sort of football to keep them up. Not every side can play nice, neat football because they have to work with the players they have available. We are even running into errors with how we are playing, just because at times the touch is poor, or we're just too slow and ponderous and get caught when trying to play it neat from the back. Imagine if say a Rotherham tried to play like that? They'd be thumped every week.

He's one of the few managers who knows how to cancel Ipswich in this league, the other being at Plymouth, so I expect we'll have a tough game on our hands there. We'll need to score early and be relentless and not give away silly passes out from the back, or stand off too long when opposition are coming into our box.
