FA Cup replays 19:24 - Jan 8 with 424 views

I was feeling that there were a lot more draws - and therefore replays to come - in the third round of the FA Cup than normal.

But I was completely wrong. There are eight this season, which is the most common number over the preceding decade* occurring three times. The fewest was four (2018-19, rather an outlier) and the most ten (2015-16).

* For two years in that period (2020-21 & 2021-22), the 3rd round went to extra time rather than replays, due to Covid. I've counted them the same, i.e. a draw after 90 minutes.
