No one could have left that stadium disappointed with the performance we put in today. Few weeks on the training ground for the players to gel and show that kind of spirit and commitment every game, we’d finish mid table.

We’ll lose plenty of games this season but they won’t be for a lack of effort or preparedness.

Excellent atmosphere too from the supporters.

I think there will be enough from today’s performance for the squad to find heartening.

Plus it could be worse, we lost to Liverpool. We could be losing to Blackburn.
