As bad as 0 wins in 9 should be 21:08 - Oct 26 with 771 viewsAsa

As well as being out of the relegation zone, assuming Palace don't get anything against Spurs, it would only take a win next week against a very beatable Leicester to potentially have pulled well clear of Wolves and Southampton and be just behind Leicester, West Ham and Everton.

Of course, Leicester will be tough and nothing is a given with the injuries we have as well. But incredible to think a win next week, our first of the season, could give us a really good cushion over most of the relegation zone.

We've gone up twice needing absolutely laughable points totals. I'd settle for staying up with the comically low one we are due!

If today’s defeat doesn’t spur us on against Leicester, nothing will. At home I’m expecting the tide to turn next week. We can’t have players with shaky confidence at the back. Lots of our League One contingent have proved more than a match in the PL. Walton and Wolfenden did well against Liverpool, Burgess did well today. It’s about getting the blend right now.

The bigger challenge is how do you get Delap, Hirst, Szmodics and Omari in to their best roles.

Tbh, i don't really care where we finish as long as the lads always give it a go and put in a real honest shift, and for seven of those nine games they have. Today was a proud performance with a sickening sucker punch at the end. As long as the intention is to keep improving and keep growing regardless of relegation, i am am fully on board.

I was very much of the view that I didn't care if we went down because we'd either likely be very competitive at the top end of the Championship, which for me is the best league to be in, or we'd have stayed up in the Premier League and pulled away further from those below us financially.

What I wanted was for us to not go down with a whimper, to have some great wins and games along the way and be proud of the team.

Can't really fault any of those that came up from League One. Muric, Johnson, O'Shea, Clarke, Ogbene had probably been the five big disappointments so far, which is either telling of how long it takes to get up to speed with the system or our fantastic recruitment suddenly became awful.

As you say for 7 matches we've been competitive. West Ham was a shambles. Last week we gave a good account in the first half.

With the Villa game, Brentford game, first half v Liverpool, large parts of Fulham, how we defended at Brighton there have been some great moments already.

Just need to get those wins on the board soon.
