Remember when we would have qualified for The Champions League if it were the same format that it is now 6 out of 7 years and the one year we did not we won the FA Cup? We also won the won The UEFA Cup at the end of that run. A counter argument to how we were beating League One teams by a large margin who just a few years before had been non league clubs in a division we should never have been in the first place.

Read that twice and still don’t know what point you’re trying to make! Is it we used to be good, then we weren’t?
The point being is that a few posts celebrate when we comfortably beat the likes of Forest Green and Morecambe who relatively recently were non league clubs in our promotion season and not to lament that we ourselves are getting thrashed now. Forest Green are back in The Conference and Morecambe are bottom of League Two and are odds on to go down. Under Hurst, Lambert and to a lesser extent Cook we were really crap in League One. I suggested that then we should have celebrated our glory days. It was an attempt at irony. I guess it failed.
