My takeways from the game 21:15 - Feb 8 with 1003 views | Guthrum | Very pleased for Jack Clarke getting two goals, one of them in a characteristic style. Phillips had a good game. As did Hirst. Palmer is decent, particularly his long-range distribution. Lots of very long kicks, most of which fell to a Town player or where one of ours could run on to it. Claims well. Couple of sharp saves (particularly the one which ended with the disallowed goal). As others have said, we may be struggling for Prem standard, but we've advanced some way beyond the Champ (even a team not comprising our usual starters).

My takeways from the game on 21:20 - Feb 8 with 944 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | It was a PL performance from us in that, on balance it was a fairly well balanced game, but our ruthless finishing was the difference. We really did punish them with some of our counters. There’s always been a player in Clarke, he’s young and sometimes tries too hard, did what he did so many times last season cutting in from the left and beating the keeper. Very pleased for Palmer - he got a lot of love at the end, really solid but perhaps most importantly demonstrated the confidence that I think is lacking with Muric right now. Could end up being worth a lot more than we paid for him if he has a solid end to the season with us.
My takeways from the game on 21:41 - Feb 8 with 798 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Palmer was assured. Commanded his area (although not sure he should have come for the one where he wiped out their two players and managed to punch clear). Made good decisions about when to play it short and when to kick long and was accurate when he did so. One of his long balls set Hirst up for the goal that was disallowed. I would like to see it again because I thought he was still in our half when it was kicked. He also made a couple of smart stops. The best debut from a keeper for us that I can remember for a long time. Definitely the best game Clarke has had for us and very much the player he was for Sunderland. Burgess was commanding at the back too.
