Yearly pilgrimage to Ipswich - Match choice advice needed 22:37 - Sep 6 with 1444 viewsDrunkdraig

Hi all,
I’m planning my yearly pilgrimage to Ipswich from Ireland. I try to get to a match once or twice a year and had my stag party there in 2009 watching a classic 0-0 draw against Watford. With flights and work, it would have to be a Saturday 3 p.m. kick off and one that would have tickets available. All local knowledge of what matches that might not be sell out would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Millwall on 21st March looks a good shout.

Unlikely to be moved for Sky. Not a huge away allocation.

Depending on how many tickets you need together, it might be best to ask some season ticket holders on here to buy on your behalf.

Other options, based on same logic, could be
Hull on 14th Feb
Swansea on 28th Feb
Blackburn on 17th Jan
Preston on 31st Jan

Thanks a million - that’s a great start- I’ll start looking into flights and keep an eye out for changes due to Sky.

The TV selections have been made for all matches up to the beginning of Jan so they won't be changed (the games to end Feb will be confirmed by 7th Nov).

The home games against Portsmouth, Wrexham, Coventry and Sheff Weds are the only confirmed Saturday 3pm games currently.

I would be inclined to target the Coventry match as they might actually try and beat us. The others might stick 11 behind the ball and it becomes a war of attrition, like most teams have done to us thus far.

A counter view would be that if we have turned things around by then, tickets will be very hard to get hold of, so sooner rather than later is a better plan.
