I would like to add that, despite the horrendous condition of this stretch of tarmac, the most disgraceful thing along this road is the house on the left that sees fit to fly a simply repulsive West Ham flag.

Well just east of that in Earls Colne we have to exit by way of America Road/Chalkney Hill and that surface in the picture would constitute a better drive than most of our route out

Why can’t the US authorise tactical strikes on targets like that? Sometimes you have to wonder if their priorities are right.
We’ve got a few stretches nearby that are pretty much the same as in the opening parts of that clip. The work vans get around pretty quick, but new ones appear as quickly as they fix them. The incessant rain seems to make it worse. I wonder if patching is a false economy and they’re be better in the long run to resurface.
I drive quite a lot through Suffolk and Norfolk, and it's like this everywhere currently - for me the worst stretch at the moment is between Scole and Beccles on the Bungay road, as that is a 60mph most of the way and is just covered in pot holes

This is 5 minutes walk from me, the road has been collapsing into the river for a couple of years now https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/25
A road that definitely felt like it was collapsing when I went along there was the one between Tiptree and Smythe's Green, near Layer Marney. Might as well have been a rollercoaster.
The A1017 near Haverhill at Sturmer and/or Baythorne End is apparently dreadfully bad, though I haven't been that way for a while.

I can confirm that Sturmer and Baythorne End is truly awful. Driving along there reminds me of those computer games you played as a kid where you had to avoid all the obstacles that suddenly appear to get to the other side.

Definitely Sturmer. Worst place for me by a mile. I notice someone has stuck a sign over the village sign which reads ‘Pothole City’.
