Not sure how you can progress with something when it’s not been sanctioned and/or not looking to sell anyway but there we are haha. |
 | Forum Thread | We’re pushing hard for Oli McBurnie at 16:31 30 Jul 2025
According to Nixon. Ipswich push hard for McBurnie By Alan Nixon Ipswich Town are pushing hard to win the race for striker Oli McBurnie - ahead a pack of rivals. The relegated Tractor Boys have come on strong for free agent McBurnie after lining up the sale of Nathan Broadhead to Wrexham. McBurnie has already been in talks with old clubs Swansea and Sheffield United as well as Hull City. Ipswich may offer the best footballing chance for him as the Scot looks to join a promotion chasing outfit. Kieran McKenna is trying to put a squad together to go straight back up and the target man with a prove record is a priority. Spanish clubs are also keen on McBurnie after a year with Las Palmas but Ipswich are emerging as favourites. [Post edited 30 Jul 16:50]

Great performance for the first 65 minutes, some nice link up play, quick attacking football as we are used to, pressed really well. Philogene and Davis link up, that’ll course some issues for teams this season. Thought Taylor put himself about well, knows there’s a spot in the team and is auditioning for it but can’t see him holding in down. Matusiwa has seemingly slotted in lovely. Chaplin his old self when he came on, some lovely footwork. Ogbene is bloody quick. Nice to meet Stadiumofdark and his lad, love the middle name(s)! Great to see (forever!) banned GlasgowBlue also I really nice afternoon/evening in Aberdeen, locals all really nice and engaging, had a few shouts of ‘come on Ipswich beat those Aberdeen c**ts’ as we walked through the city, assume Rangers fans haha. Walked along the seafront up to the ground and that’s a lovely bit of coastline by the look of it. Post game Aberdeen fans were really complimentary about our team, had one come up to us and say he enjoyed watching us and was really impressed. Couple of others saying how good we were. Positive signs. A lot of mentions of the 80s team from various people as well, seem to have a good name for ourselves up here as they were obviously up against us back then. Enjoyable turn out from our fans, walking back to the hotel just now through the City and kept bumping into more, we do travel well, fanbase is a credit to the club. COYB |
 | Forum Thread | Transfers are complicated part 2514 at 08:25 25 Jul 2025
Just found this article, think it’s from last year. Never really thought about all the tax/VAT stuff when it comes to transfers and didn’t realise there was a levy (4% in the Premier League and 5% in the EFL) Explains it all in great depth along with agent fees and how clubs try and avoid tax on them! Interesting bit about Jordan Henderson at the bottom as well haha! https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5686297/2024/08/15/premier-league-tax-transfer- (Paywall but I read it through reader mode on my phone to get round that) |
