The qualities you expect in a leader 04:33 - Mar 28 with 184 viewsLegendofthePhoenix

Trustworthiness
Integrity
Good judgement
A balance between confidence and humility
Ability to read the room
Understanding and connection with the ordinary folk
Listening

Ashton undoubtedly has other qualities - energy, ambition and passion. But the above are badly lacking.
Ashton simply HAS to go. The optics on this are so, so bad. He has trashed our club's reputation. No apology will wash with the wider world. We are Reform FC in the eyes of all our opponents. Only when his head rolls can we say that we have exorcised the demon, that we have distanced ITFC from the far right and from all politics. Only then can we reclaim our connection with the entire fanbase, the community, the Foundation. Our club is way better than this. Time for a new leader.

We could never have known it would play out via this particular scenario, but in general, it’s exactly why so many of us were concerned at the time he took on *both* roles of CEO and Chair.

Too much power, not enough scrutiny, checks, balance.

Ps apologies for accidental downie, have corrected it!
