| "They're out to get you" 13:25 - Jun 10 with 447 views | Cheltenham_Blue | This is the rhetoric that has kept America, America for a century plus. "This is the only country in the world that has proper freedom, all other countries are jealous of that and they want to take away your freedom and murder you in your beds. You must protect yourself from others who want to steal from you and murder your family, take up your 2nd amendment rights and protect yourself. If you can't protect yourself, then we are the only political party (Republican) that can defend you, we are the only people who can catch all of these murderers and drug dealers hiding in your bins, we are the only party who will stop these rapists, murderers, drug dealers and thieves from coming over our undefended borders" It's as old as the hills, kids at elementary school are taught this to be fact, and its reiterated in worship. And now, its coming here, "secure our borders", "stop the boats", "Others will stab you and murder you", and the US and TechBro's are helping to stoke division in the UK by utilising the American method of, "They're out to get you". Don't conflate the protests/riots in Belfast and Southampton with immigration, they were just a bunch of cunits who were looking for an excuse to fight the plod, directed by Farage and by JD Vance. We're under attack, but it isn't by migrants, its by puppet states trying to sow division. | |

The U.S. is built on immigration but it’s only the last couple of decades - roughly Bush to Trump era - that immigrants have been demonized as much as they are. Coincidentally that era coincides with the rise of the internet and social media which makes spreading of hate and division very quick and easy to do, not to mention cheered on and spread dangerously by the people such as Musk. At a street level in Belfast, though, an immigrant who passed through at least two other countries to get to Northern Ireland stabs a man’s eyes out. Whatever decisions enabled this, it’s not hard to understand why there’s a reaction. | |
