Maybe he did want the Fulham job, maybe the compensation was too much, maybe the only way out was to step down and 'take time away from the game', but the fact he's left now, and probably taken the club as far as he can, with the resources at his disposal sits well with me. He leaves with his reputation intact, with legendary status amongst many fans. A second relegation damages that, and I totally understand his desire to move on, and in a way that doesn't upset the Town fans.
Perhaps an established Premier League manager, with the necessary hunger, nouse, experience, will be enough to get us to 40 points.
This will however see many players move on, and we're in for an exciting transfer window once the new man comes in.
