Am happy for him that he’s going in this manner, rather than drummed out mid-season if Town are mired in the bottom 3. I won’t even begrudge him if he does turn up in another job before the season starts. It doesn’t say much for his belief that we can stay up in the Premier League next season, but again, he’s probably doing us a favour by letting a new voice come in and have a crack at the challenge, if he didn’t feel he had the energy for it. The amount of work he has done in the last 5 years is insane, and he has a wife and kids. Not speculating but that would put a strain on any family situation, and we know how important family is to him; look at how often he brought up his upbringing where his family took over a hotel etc. Only there, his parents were obviously there even while working, whereas he has to travel, be at the training ground etc. |  |
