Fines do absolutely nothing. They made $60billion dollars last year.
People need to start being held criminally liable for this stuff. It's just become a cost of doing business. |
Tis the problem with the internet, who is responsible for the prosecution and whose laws are they prosecuted under.
The Uk for example has no right of privacy enshrined in law, it's a mishmash around 'reasonable expectation' where as in France there are defined laws of privacy.
There will be other differences in legality and legal definitions better suited to this, but that was the first thing in my head.
On the bright side though - As part of the settlement, in which the company denies wrongdoing, it agrees to make changes to its platforms nationwide. This includes rules such as daily limits and night-time blocks for teenage users |  |
