What is the point in starting Gerken? 15:13 - Apr 22 with 859 viewsjakehammond1995

As I write this he has just saved a penalty however, what do we learn from him starting?
We know he's an average keeper but why not give Crowe some much needed game time? Hayes I guess must be looking to get some senior football at some point and I assume the lad Marsden will be leaving at some point but I would be rather frustrated if I was Crowe and Hayes being held back from even bench appearances by Deano
