I may be slow to the party but it was only during the World Cup final on Sunday that I discovered the adverts are shown differently depending on the territory viewing them.
It's incredible tech which many of you probably already knew about but raised a few questions: Does the advertising company pay the club/ stadium for the positioning and then split the revenue with the broadcaster or does it work another way? Can it be regionally segmented in the UK? Could the boards be turned off or be blank in the ground but used for messaging elsewhere? e.g. using them to broadcast anti-Putin messages to Russian football fans.
Does anyone have any professional insight? The possibilities are incredible - but as with many of these things, also a little scary.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
