Went to sleep before my midnight watch thinking Waghorn was not going anywhere. I replied to a thread a few days back with this, and it’s why i am gutted that there’s even a small likelihood that Waghorn is leaving. You should have seen Seb’s face light up when he spoke to him about Shields. When he shouted Howay the Mariners at him. It was pure unbridled joy. Seb has been to Ipswich twice. He only supports Ipswich because I have taught him that’s what we do. Waghorn being from the same place as Seb has given him a bit more of a connection to the club, he spoke about him in the car on the way home “Daddy, he talks like me, but you don’t.” Cheers Seb. Whether he stays or goes, he’s given my boy a bit more of an interest, and that’s brilliant. I dare say one day I will see Waghorn in Shields and will be able to thank him for it. Until then, whatever he does, I wish him nothing but success and all the best. | |
