Thanks for posting that, I'll try to get to watch it. Dmax in Spain has been running a series called the Franco years in colour - don't suppose it'll make the UK version but worth a watch if it does.
Before finally moving to Spain I remember on a holiday in Andalucia in the mid 80s watching a one armed old guy polishing the village Franco statue each morning. Assume he was a war veteran - if the statue was still there I'm sure there would still be people out doing the same now.
In the village where I live there's an abandoned chapel that was used as a Republican field hospital and in the local town a mass grave next the cemetery that they still haven't been allowed to investigate - incredible really as there are still relatives in the town that believe it contains past family members.
A couple of the old guys here were telling me that they had a friend a bit older than them that spent the war years hidden behind a wardrobe so he wouldn't get conscripted- came out at the end of the war as white as a sheet as he hadn't seen the sun for 3 years. Great story that has probably got better over the years.

Storyville on crimes committed in Spain under Franco is excellent on 20:47 - Dec 12 with 494 views
"Billy el niño" the main torturer accused in the documentary Steve posted has died of coronavirus https://elpais.com/espana/2020-05-07/muere-por-coronavirus-billy-el-nino-el-poli - I know 2 of the group seeking justice have passed away but those remaining and a good many others I'm sure won't be too saddened other than they were never able to get the justice they sought.

I'm still working my way through the Storyville back catalogue but have seen the Ratko Mladic one, as you say really good (although often is a very disheartening way). I would also recommend not missing 'Advocate: A Lawyer Without Borders' which is only available for three more days. And the OJ five parter is back on the iPlayer now. My next one is 'Fishing For Love - How To Catch A Thai Bride' but I am holding off on that one until my ad free TWTD subscription kicks in...

Was it you who recommended the gay porn star one? It was very good. But then most Storyvilles are... The two-parter on Jonestown was brilliant as well.

I did recommend 'The Rise and Fall of a Gay Porn Star', glad you enjoyed it and I hope you were not disappointed that it was not as explicit as the title suggested...
