I bought a car (thanks for the advice on Civics - got one!) and have been sent this document saying 'this document is not proof of ownership'. Is this the log book thingy? I'm confused because it says 'how to fill in your V5C registration certificate (log book)'
Many thanks and I have googled this, but don;t understand the results.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Cheers mr - think I get it now. so registered keeper = logbook / receipt = ownership.

It really is for records of where the motor is kept rather than much else.
I suppose an example might be if I were going away for several months and no longer had an address here and my car was left with you then legally it would need to be registered there.
It's all above board mate.
And good for you on your choice. Long may it serve you faithfully.

Cheers - I'm already in love with the silly thing and driven it either side of the country and back (east/west) so touch wood, its solid!
