Evans won't sack Lambert anytime soon 19:56 - Jan 27 with 856 views | istanblue | Sorry to depress everyone further but I just can't see it for the following reasons: 1) Financial - It's obvious Evans doesn't want to spend any money where he feels he doesn't have to. Sacking Lambert would be costly due to that ludicrous 5 year contract (even if a break clause can be activated), he'd also presumably have to pay up the majority of his coaching staff (Taylor, Gill etc.) as well. Then more money would have to be spent on a replacement and the coaching staff they would want to bring in with them. In the background to all of this is a pandemic that has severely impacted Evans' business empire where the reluctance to spend money 'needlessly' becomes even greater. 2) Credibility - As far as I'm aware Evans has never been one of these owners that publicly backs the manager (vote of confidence) to then only sack the manager 2 weeks later or whatever. If I'm remembering correctly it's actually unprecedented for Evans to personally issue a public statement supporting the manager, in the past it has been done by one of his puppets (Milne, O'Neill, Clegg etc.). So for Evans to offer such unwavering public support of PL would suggest that he's fully behind him and that no sacking is imminent. Evans would lose face/credibility if he sacked him now. 3) Lambert gaslighting - Evans has clearly been pushed by Lambert to support him in the past with things like the 5 year contract and signings. PR Paul has already spun Evans a load of sh!te with the 'players returning from injury' line. It would be no surprise to me if Lambert was on the phone to Evans right now saying ''we only lost because of the red card'', ''the team battled'', '' only 5 points off the play-offs with 3 games in hand'', ''COVID is stopping us getting into a rhythm'' etc. It's clearly a case of PL making excuses but you just know Evans will lap that up because he doesn't have a clue about football. Also that '3 games to save his job' rumour is clearly wrong as even a win over Crewe would be averaging 1 point a game which is survival form at present. Don't get me wrong I want Lambert gone as much as anyone, but our diabolical owner won't do anything about it. #PRPaulOut #EvansOut
Evans won't sack Lambert anytime soon on 20:03 - Jan 27 with 768 views | George25 | The pay off it’s as much of thought. There a clause where the pay off stop after 2 and a half years of his contract. Meaning Evans would only have to pay a year and a bit up( which he has done for previous mangers).
