A more sober view of last night - The First Goal 10:24 - Mar 17 with 419 viewscleaner

Cleaner feels that was beyond excuse for any professional football team, and it isn't down to coaching or anything else - but rather a player issue. They were ball watching in tandem and that has to be something that stops.

Of course, there was plenty more wrong with that game but stupid stuff like that and soft goals are really setting the tone for these games.

Cleaner does remain confident that we have players in the squad that can handle playing in the championship - but it comes down to filling in the key pieces of the jigsaw. Think of how well Wolfenden and Lankester played when they came into the Championship fray - a lot of that is due to having mentors on the pitch and a little bit of hand holding.

In the summer, come what may, we absolutely have to get a proactive and mentoring spine in place.

Cleaner doesn't want to slam Chambers and Skuse too much, as Skuse is understandably rusty and Chambers is passionate for the club and one of the better players this season overall - though they simply must have better games in them if the whole team is to be lifted and to shake this really bogged down slog and stupid soft goals/individual errors costing us games and momentum.

In other news, Cleaner is enjoying his training this morning, and he fully anticipates cleaning up the team's act this weekend.
