Some brilliant old Town footage here...and not just football 19:45 - May 26 with 718 viewsgtsb1966

Along with other stuff from war, to politics to TV. Just type Ipswich in the search box for the football and other Ipswich related stuff.

Thanks for posting this as I was at that Town game, White Hart Lane 1971 and don't remember ever seeing any footage before. Went with 2 mates and we were below the camera slightly to the right on a blazing hot day!

The Ipswich 4 Man Utd 1 game looks like a sell out. Did we get good crowds in the early 70's?

Thirty eight thousand and ten recorded (and there were probably some unrecorded attendees) crowd against Leeds in 1975.

Great post sadly the one that stood out for me was our first ever meeting against Manchester United in 1958 in the FA Cup. The tie took place on the 25th January just 12 days before the Munich air crash. It was the last match at Old Trafford involving the Busby Babes.

Playing for Manchester united that day were Roger Byrne the Manchester United captain, Eddie Colman, Mark Jones, Tommy Taylor who all lost their lives just a few days later.

Bobby Charlton scored both goals for Utd that day where Duncan Edwards played a part in the victory.
