We beat Cardiff with a couple of young academy products in CM.
Owen Garvan and Ian Westlake.
I really liked the two of them and was dissapointed they didn't push on or at least stay with us for longer.
Also Nicky Forster and Sam Parkin debuted up front and again I remember thinking wow these two could be just what we need for the next 3 or 4 years....

I used to love watching Garvan. As a player myself with no pace, it gave me hope haha!

A Championship journeyman, which actually isn't a bad career for a professional footballer.
Westlake was looking distinctly promising, although he was a bit of a sick note in his last season at Town. I wasn't happy when we sold him to Leeds, but again his time there was ruined by injury & I guess Jim Magilton knew what he was doing.
