Reading the Kieron Dyer story brought back bad memories 10:19 - Sep 20 with 355 viewsnodge_blue

I had a collapsed lung when I was 18. Didnt realise what the pain was - thought Id badly pulled a muscle in my back. I was going out that night though and still went - got drunk which was amazing for killing the pain and then walked home.

Next Saturday morning I was bad though. On a hospital operating table in the afternoon. Conscious with a young doctor putting a bit of bunsen burner tube into my side via some sort of harpoon.

Horrific.

They connected me to a demi john of water like a school science experiment. But managed to get the tubes the wrong way round. So that didnt work and then messed up my lung to the extent I had to go to Norwich for a big operation.

So full respect to Kieron. I know how scary that feeling is.

Apologies for this being a bit self indulgent but it did bring it all back reading it.
