I have always had a curiosity and appreciation for Donacien, even when most of us threw him out. I don't blame people for doing so, as Hurst and Lambert threw him out and it's hard to have faith in a player that the managers we have no faith in discard them.
Whilst I admit he never should have be signed for the Championship, he always did well enough on loan to deserve a closer look. He's taken his chance and surprised a lot of us - even me. Whilst I always supported him, I didn't for the life of me think he was going to give KVY a run for his money and would always be backup.
Even if Janoi get replaced and falls off, this contract renewal is something I agree with as we have the opportunity to not just let a good player walk for nothing, a player who very much attracts interestest from other teams.
In short though, MASSIVE respect for a player who should have probably walked whilst giving ITFC the finger - yet here he is, fighting harder for us than a lot of the players who were deemed better than him by Hurst and Lambert. |  |
