Tactical flexibility - at last! 12:00 - Feb 6 with 322 viewsthorpedo

Yes it was a terrible game and we were lucky to win - but it was refreshing to see a manager change formations midgame, after the inflexibility of Lambert and Cook.
Edwards came on at right wing back after Burns's injury, but was struggling so McKenna switched him to left midfield in a 4-4-2. This was when we scored our goal. Almost immediately we reverted to 5 at the back - with Edwards moving back to right wing back!, Felt harsh on Edwards to shunt him around, but we saw the match out with no scares at all, so well played McKenna.
I like the 3 centre back system, but at home to poorer sides I do not think it is needed - especially with two midfielders like Evans and Carroll who, while neat and tidy, offer little thrust or penetration.
