If there is one thing that has become certain about these local elections results is that it is that the bloater is a huge liability, and his dishonesty 'came up on the doorstep', repeatedly

Otherwise, there is some guff being spouted. To talk of how these results would play out to a general election, is to talk of Town scoring 2 in the first 5 mins and so running out 36-0 winners over 90 mins.

Much of the Tory defeats were down to targetted voting. How much was Libdems tactically voting. or disaffected Tories wanting to send a message can only be guessed at. Nor is it known whether the Tories will present such an odious bunch causing that targetted voting.

Much of the success of the Greens was in councils where the vote was an already foregone conclusion. However, it does highlight how out of touch the Tories are on environmental concerns. Something that will be a bigger concern for them in a GE when the average of the vote will be far lower.

My thought is that Local elections along with the previous European elections were voted in by older people, in general. I would suggest the environment will be something that is the Achilles heel for the Tories. Any backsliding from their "'it's all wokism ...... baa baa' will see the bigots shift off to Ukip, BNP, Deform etc who will certainly pander to their ignorance.

And it will not be only Johnson the Tories have to cleanse from their government. It will be the rag bag of third rate incompetents such as Dorries, Patel, the stick insect, Rabb, Eustice.

However it will take a long while to cleanse the stench of the corruption and incompetence that followed him into number 10, and has been allowed to fester there, for far too long
