Ipswich vs WBA from 2006 11:39 - Oct 16 with 1342 viewsChampionsofInnsbruck

This just flashed up on my Facebook timeline. I had forgotten this game, it was from Jim's era. We looked dire: https://fb.watch/nIOVVZTTWG/ - I don't recall us being that bad that season!

Pitch looked nice though with the diagonal stripes.

Libraries gave us power
Poll: Which position in the table will we be after Saturday?

Our defence looked tragic in this, and Lewis Price looked miles off the standard. Maybe we are just spoiled by what we are seeing right now, but I don't remember us being that bad then, but clearly we were!

If I remember rightly, that was Tony Mowbray's team on their way to promotion. Was more that they were very good than we were very bad!

Nigel Pearson was the manager, apparently, with Mogga on the verge of being appointed.

But I seem to remember the Baggies looked pretty good that day - as much as we were pretty bad.

Poll: Lambert goes, would you prefer an ex-Town connection replacement or not?

To be honest, I forgot Mogga was running them at the time! I only remembered the game (for obvious reasons!) after it flashed up today.

I don't remember rightly then! Pearson had just been turned down for the Town job in favour of Jim, so must have been sweet for him.

Classic Ipswich that one! Pearson has a good record of setting up clubs for success doesn't he!
