I’m struggling to pick out a highlight. Possibly it’s his views on PR which are informed from the more proportional Welsh system. He was asked whether labour needed to replicate New Labour to win. Whether they’ve abandoned their core voters. His views on the UK and independence claims. Brexit and Covid very briefly mentioned. As to his stepping down soon.
Drakeford was too diplomatic to criticise English Labour directly, or to generate too many talking points. But it’s clear he sees a different path. He steers clear from controversy though and wants to build bridges. Can you imagine Truss or anyone in her cabinet giving an interview like this?
If you’re interested in politics, I’m sure you’ll find this interesting. It’s not very deep, but on the plus side that means it doesn’t take long to listen to it.
